Welcome to Spark Path. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Spark Path mobile application and related services (the "App," "Service"). By creating an account or using Spark Path, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
Spark Path is an educational app that helps people studying the electrical trade learn concepts, review National Electrical Code (NEC) topics, and practice with flashcards and lessons. Spark Path is a study tool — it is not a substitute for the official NEC codebook, formal apprenticeship training, licensed supervision, or professional engineering judgment. Always verify code requirements against the current edition of the NEC as adopted in your jurisdiction, and consult a licensed electrician or your local authority having jurisdiction before performing electrical work.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Spark Path. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.
Spark Path offers two ways to get access:
Prices may change from time to time. If we change the price of the monthly subscription, we'll notify you in advance and the new price will apply starting your next billing cycle — a price change never affects an annual pass you've already purchased. Except where required by law, all payments — including the one-time annual pass — are non-refundable, including for partial periods or unused time.
If you're on the monthly subscription, you can cancel at any time from the Settings tab in the app — there's no phone call or email required. When you cancel, you'll keep access through the end of your current paid billing period, after which your access to lesson modules and flashcard decks will be locked. You're welcome to resubscribe at any time to pick back up where you left off; your progress is saved. The one-time annual pass isn't a recurring charge, so there's nothing to cancel — it simply expires automatically at the end of its 12-month term.
When using Spark Path, you agree not to:
All lessons, flashcards, quizzes, graphics, and other materials in Spark Path are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use this content for your own studying — it doesn't give you ownership of it. References to NEC article and section numbers are provided as study pointers only; Spark Path does not reproduce the text of the National Electrical Code, which is a copyrighted publication of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Nothing in Spark Path is professional, legal, or engineering advice, and completing lessons or flashcards doesn't certify or qualify you to perform electrical work. Electrical work can be dangerous and is regulated by law. You're responsible for following all applicable codes, permitting requirements, and licensing laws in your area. Any work you or anyone else performs on a job site — including electrical installations, repairs, or decisions made on the basis of anything in the app — is solely your responsibility, or the responsibility of your supervising licensed electrician. Spark Path is not responsible or liable for any injury, property damage, code violation, or other consequence arising from work performed on a job site, whether or not that work was informed by content in the app.
Spark Path is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that its content is complete or fully up to date with the current NEC edition. Code requirements vary by jurisdiction and change over time — always confirm against your local adopted code.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Spark Path and its team aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including damages related to electrical work performed based on information in the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to Spark Path is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Spark Path if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the app and cancel your subscription at any time, as described in Section 4.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Spark Path after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
